Sara Ali Khan‘s quirkiness and joyous personality translate rightly into her fashion choices. The starlet who made her debut with Kedarnath alongside the late Sushant Singh Rajput has since been making it to the headlines for not only being related to the sensational Taimur Ali Khan (haha, jokes aside!) and her acting chops, but also for her fashion-forward personality. From sporting off-beat prints and silhouettes with ease to rocking the desi girl look with her envy-inducing Indian-wear to sporting statement-making gowns, Sara effortlessly oscillates between a plethora of styles.
However, the actor is undeniably partial towards traditional clothing. She has quite the discerning eye for Indian-wear. Think sharara sets, ghararas, anarkalis to basic kurta-pyjamas and more. But her love for Indian-wear doesn’t end there. Sara has an assortment of show-stopping lehenga sets in her traditional kitty—both, conventional and unconventional—that deserve special attention. Her go-to designer-duo for lehengas are Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and her go-to style, well, isn’t a particular one except for the fact that they’re all standout pieces! Don’t go by my word, scroll ahead and look for yourself!
8 lehengas we’d like to steal from Sara Ali Khan’s wardrobe:1. In Mayyur Girotra
During a promotional round for Love Aaj Kal with Kartik Aryan, Sara opted for this gorgeous lehenga set by designer Mayyur Girotra. The multi-hued separates comprised a red bralette that featured Patola motifs and a chevron-patterned lehenga that came in colours like red, aqua, pink and navy. The look was completed with a floor-grazing jacket that featured a thick, navy blue border with Patola weaves. A vibrant lesson on how to clash prints and colours!

2. In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
Dressed head-to-toe in pistachio-hued couture, Sara shows us how to include unconventional colours into our traditional wardrobe. The blouse was adorned with tonal, bugle beads and crystals, while the tulle lehenga featured resham embroidery in white. Subtle yet impactful!

3. In Anushree Reddy
Needless to say why this lehenga makes for a show-stopping number but this outfit by Anushree Reddy is what dreams are made of! The striking red hue of the lehenga set is the show-stealer and the self-toned thread-work and patterns add a touch of glamour to it. The tulle border and the scalloped hem of the lehenga accentuate it beautifully!

4. In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
For the cover of Hello magazine, the star posed in a black lehenga by her favourite designers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The one-of-a-kind, jet black, gola blouse came in a diaphanous, 3D silhouette that was teamed with a black lehenga. The lehenga featured embroidered, gota crescents in circular patterns.

5. In Sabyasachi
By now, you know that Sara doesn’t settle on anything that won’t turn heads as she walks into a room. And this dreamy Sabyasachi number rightly puts her on a sartorial pedestal! The fully-sequined blouse and dupatta have my full attention, but the multicoloured floral embroidery on the skirt is equally a sartorial treat to the eyes!

6. Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
The unofficial ambassador of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla stunned in another one of their creations when she first started her promotional journey for Kedarnath. The v-neck blouse exposing her toned midriff came with 3D, appliqué florals, stitched onto a netted fabric. The blooms were dipped in pastel shades like white, blush pink, muted blue and powder yellow. For the blouse to be the focal point of the outfit, she teamed it with a plain, pristine white lehenga, which unavoidably also became a statement-making number!

7. In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
Nothing like a lehenga that comes in classic Indian colours like gold! Back in 2018 when Sara was busy promoting Kedarnath, she was on a spree of opting for Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla couture. This one was bedazzled with a design of intertwined strings in the label’s signature gota work.

8. In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
The actress really does prioritise versatility in all her clothes. Even lehengas. Around this time, she kept things simple with the blouse—a deep, round neck, sheen silver number that she wore with an extravagant, embellished lehenga. As if the embellishments weren’t enough, the lehenga served as a canvas for embroidery in foliage motifs, as well. The colours used for the same were navy blue, aqua and green that added a burst of colour to the otherwise monochromatic outfit!

Safe to say, Sara doesn’t like to play it safe when it comes to ethnic silhouettes. Grandeur and flamboyance are two elements that she always swears by when it comes to lehengas! On that note, what do you think of the actor’s lehenga collection? Tell me in the comments below!
