Vaani Kapoor Grabs The Spotlight In A Pink Princess-Like Gown

href=”author/nelly-wadia”>Nelly Wadia , 25 Feb 2021Vaani Kapoor | (Source: Instagram | @mohitrai)

Vaani Kapoor rose to fame with her role as Tara in Shudh Desi Romance. She was even nominated for the Best Female Debut Filmfare Award. Vaani killed it on-screen with Ranveer Singh in Befikre, keeping up with his energy and effervescence. After a three-year hiatus, she appeared in War, an action thriller film, opposite Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The movie was a total blockbuster; fans couldn’t wait to see Hrithik and Tiger together on-screen. This movie remains her most successful film to date.

On the work front, she will star in Shamshera opposite Ranbir Kapoor in a double role and Sanjay Dutt. The star has Bell Bottom, opposite Akshay Kumar in a lead role and Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles. In addition, she also has Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, a romantic comedy co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana.

Here’s a look at Vaani Kapoor’s pink gown:

Mohit Rai styles Vaani Kapoor in a light pink gown from Atelier Zuhra. The tulle, tube-top gown has a corseted bodice and is transparent below the thigh. What makes this outfit special though is the beautiful beadwork that you see throughout the dress. The dress features an abstract design that is only highlighted with pearl detailing. She wears the look sans accessories which lets the dress take centre-stage. Her dress costs 4.5 lakh rupees and has us lusting for spring. Isn’t this the perfect dress to wear to a summer soiree?

Makeup artist Pooja Rohira Fernandes gives Vaani Kapoor a natural flawless base, highlighted cheekbones, a subtle smokey eye and glossy lips complete her glam. What I love most about her eye makeup though is the shiny inner corners of the eye. They really open up the human eye, no? Surekha Nivate gives her voluminous, wavy hair that goes really well with her ensemble.

Parineeti Chopra Makes Some Risky Off-Beat Sartorial Choices With Cosy Sweaters

href=”author/nelly-wadia”>Nelly Wadia , 19 Feb 2021Parineeti Chopra | (Source: Instagram | @parineetichopra)

Parineeti Chopra is currently busy promoting The Girl On The Train. The movie release in 6 days on Netflix India. On the work front, Pari just finished shooting Dibakar Banerjee‘s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and she also has Saina, a biographical film, based on the life of Saina Nehwal. Parineeti’s taste in fashion has been through a very clear and steady evolution. She’s become more open to experimentation and look fabulous in whatever she wears. For her latest promotional looks, the star brings together versatile separates that are luxe and can be paired with many options for years to come. Scroll on to see more details from her latest looks.

Here’s a closer look at Parineeti Chopra’s risky fashion choices:

Mohit Rai styles Parineeti Chopra in a simple and sexy all-black outfit from Zara. She wears a polo-neck, cable-knit sweater that she pairs with faux-leather pants. The wide-leg pants cut off at the ankle and she styles the look patent leather, pointy-toe slingback pumps. She accessorises her look with only a white watch and avoids jewellery which creates an impact. Sangeeta Kumar Hegde pulls Pari’s hair back into a tight, messy ponytail. Mitali Vakil gives Parineeti Chopra a smokey eye, contoured cheeks and a nude lip. However, I really like that she opts for french tips because they really go well with her look.

A post shared by Parineeti Chopra (@parineetichopra)

For her second look, Mohit Rai gives her an oversized grey sweater. The sweater has a relaxed stolen from boyfriends closet vibe and is from H&M. She expertly pairs the look with a pleated midi-skirt from Massimo Dutti. The star only accessorises with a pair of black suede boots. This time around she wears a hair up in a messy bun with a few fly-aways. Green smokey eyes, strong brows, contoured cheeks and a nude look complete her glam quotient. Frankly, I have never seen Parineeti Chopra make such off-beat fashion choices and it is possible that Mohit Rai has influenced the change. Whichever it is, I am thoroughly enjoying the basics with a twist and she looks beautiful.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja Looks Like A Greek Goddess In A Yellow Gown

What’s the one thing you should be doing if you haven’t already (applicable to those that practically worship fashion)? Swipe through Sonam Kapoor Ahuja‘s Instagram. If it doesn’t feel like you’re browsing through a couture look book, then you’re perhaps not gazing correctly. The actor has been on a roll; posting jaw-dropping looks one after the other on her personalised mood board that is her Instagram feed. Pandemic or not, if there’s one thing Sonam’s proven, it’s that nothing can dampen her style parade. So whether it’s decking up for photoshoots for the ‘gram, solo date nights or quick trips to the bookstore, Sonam ensures she looks like she’s just walked out of a fashion show. Over the weekend, the actor treated her followers to another set of bedazzling pictures, dressed in a Stéphane Rolland creation. Keep scrolling to get a better look!

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is everything in this gown:

Styled by celebrity stylist, Mohit Rai, Sonam was decked up in a mango-coloured dress that came with voluminous dolman sleeves, a heavily embellished high neck with a sexy slit till her midriff, a long black belt tied loosely at the waist, and a cascading train. The silky texture of the dress mixed with a vibrant hue like that stood out beautifully against Sonam’s skin. The pleats on the bust of the dress and the frontal area of the skirt added definition to the easy-breezy statement gown. The actor picked quirky rose gold earrings from Zoya Jewels named Drops of Honey, adorned with encrusted diamonds to accessorise her look.

Elevating the drama of her look was Sonam’s makeup by Mallika Bhat—bold and not for the faint-hearted. The actor teamed her striking red lip with brown and maroon smokey eyes. Mascara-laden lashes, defined brows and contoured cheeks rounded off her glam for the shoot. As for her mane, hairstylist, Alpa Khimani gave Sonam a low ponytail with a middle partition, with wavy strands of hair framing her chiselled face.

The Masterful Stylists Behind Our Stylish Bollywood Celebs

href=”author/nelly-wadia”>Nelly Wadia , 05 May 2020

Stylists, Mohit Rai, Shaleena Nathani | (Source: Instagram | @mohitrai, @shaleenanathani)

For a long time, people have been confused by the role of a stylist. And, many times they’ve been confused for fashion designers. Yes, they could have studied design and maybe even possess the skills of a designer. However, being a stylist is different than what people understand of the career, itself. In my humble opinion, a stylist is someone who sells an idea, a construct and a lifestyle. Back in the day when fashion was nascent, the stylist was selling aspirational content through editorials. And it was brilliant because of the whimsy and larger than life ability that an editorial would possess. It was art that we were flipping through. As time went on by and consumerism was on the rise, people wanted a more affordable lifestyle. So, the structure of magazine culture faded to become achievable so to speak.

Here’s a list of my favourite stylists to have graced the fashion scene in Bollywood:1) Shaleena Nathani

Shaleena is a stylist to the likes of Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Sharukh Khan etc. She was formerly part of Anaita‘s squad called Style Cell. You could describe her styling as a mix of modern femininity and athleisure, for the most part.

2) Ami Patel

Ami Patel has been around for years and has rounded up quite a few B-town babes under her belt. Take, for instance, Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday, Athiya Shetty, Kangana Ranaut and global kween Priyanka Chopra. Ami’s styling is more wearer-friendly and happy, shiny girl-next-door vibes.

Now entering its 7th year, Watch Hunger Stop supports the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and its school meals program. The Watch Hunger Stop campaign has helped WFP deliver more than 18 million meals to children since its inception. Michael Kors will donate 100 additional meals to World Food Programme for every picture posted by customers across the globe. #FOODISLOVE #watchhungerstop

3) Anaita Shroff Adajania

Anaita has sort of been the jack of all trades. You could say she started off as an actress/model and moved up to costume designer and stylist. She’s even won a few accolades for her styling and is currently the Fashion Director at Vogue India.  She also hosts Feet Up With The Stars that airs on Voot. And, last but not the least, she is the champion stylist to Hrithik Roshan, Sara Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif etc.

4) Tanya Ghavri

Tanya started out her journey assisting Pernia Qureshi and went onto bagging work with Sonam Kapoor who became impressed with Tanya’s work during the filming of Aisha. She styles the likes of Freida Pinto, Shraddha Kapoor, Alaya F and many more. I would surely describe Tanya to have a keen eye for details and some fascinating and unique taste with her sartorial choices for her actors, which always make them stand out.

5) Aastha Sharma & Reann Moradian

Aastha and Reann collectively form The Wardrobist. They’ve recently styled Four More Shots-Season 2 as well and have driven us all to envy’s envy with all the fabulous clothes worn by the star cast. They’re also well-known for styling Aishwarya Rai Bachan, Kajol, Rakul Preet and many more leading ladies have been styled by this duo. These two have a penchant for luxury and drama which you will find to be a major part of their styling.

6) Mohit Rai

I get the sense that Mohit is a stylist that understands the female form and does it justice when styling. All of his actresses look so well turned out and sexy yet elegant. Sonakshi Sinha, Disha Patani, Janhvi Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, he’s played to all of their strengths and only ever highlighted them. His work gives me some major inspiration on the daily.

7) Isha Bhansali

Isha came along and made menswear styling look easy, even though I know for a fact it isn’t. It is a tedious task filled with details one cannot miss.  TBH, I find menswear boring AF, but each time Isha blows the ball outta the park and leaves me astounded with a look, I didn’t think a man could pull off. She religiously styles Ayushmann Khurrana to look dapper as hell. Isha has also styled Rajkumar Rao, Ajay Devgan and Ali Fazal. I have to say Isha’s style is eclectic and fun.

7 Times Sonakshi Sinha Nailed Indo-Western Dressing

href=”author/nelly-wadia”>Nelly Wadia , 05 May 2020

Its not about your reflection… its what you see beyond it.

A post shared by Sonakshi Sinha (@aslisona) on Jan 28, 2020 at 2:53am PST

I feel like Sonakshi Sinha has had a pretty bad time in B-town, thanks to her trolls. She’s quite a beautiful girl who was bullied relentlessly for her body type. But she took all of this mayhem and drama in her stride and looks like she worked it all off. She looks fabulous with her new body goals and has been milking it by upping the fashion ante.

She’s been style by Mohit Rai who really knows what women want and gives them exactly that. It’s always one step ahead of the game with Sonakshi. Even with her western wear looks, I’ve noticed quite the change in her appearance. It’s elegant, fun and playful, it really sets a youthful tone as well.

Here’s a look at Sonakshi’s best Indo-Western ensembles:1) Sonakshi’s Printed Skirt

Sonakshi has been caught wearing Anamika Khanna an umpteen amount of times and Sona really does justice to every single look as well. This fabulous printed skirt with a thigh-high slit and unfinished fringed ends look fantastic when paired against the black and white Indian printed jacket. The embellished jacket with long sleeves also works for the likes of women who are really conscious of their arms. A simple black crop top and oodles of silver jewellery finished out her look. What’s modern about this look is her choice of footwear and of course the style of this skirt.

2) Palazzo Pants

Who doesn’t love a pair of lightweight palazzo pants? Sonakshi is also rocking print-on-print in this Punit Balana number. The ruffled ends on the long sleeves that match the hem of the jacket all add length to her body including the stripe print on her longline jacket. This jacket is off-set with bandhani print palazzo pants and a black knot front crop-top. Doesn’t Sonakshi look A-one in this look? The modernness definitely comes from the crop-top, don’t you think?

3) Sonakshi’s Lace Wrap Skirt

This wrap skirt, blush pink, stitched saree paired with a lace longline jacket again makes Sonakshi’s body look so lean and elongated. She paired her look with a nice chunky, oxidised necklace and silver earrings. Wavy locks and monochrome makeup really pulled her look together. Truthfully its the colour and the lace that makes the ensemble a modern statement.

4) Tiered Midi-Skirt

This billowy Anita Dongre number really sets the tone for summer. A pool party, a brunch, it just sorta works for any vibe. The floral print, spaghetti crop-top paired with a tiered, midi skirt and lightweight jacket make quite the splash together. The mango toned outfit also look fab against brown skin and tousled wavy hair FTW! The hair and makeup and accessories and print make this look westernised.

5) Sonakshi In Wide-leg Capri Pants

Hello! Hot Pink pants! I literally can’t stop looking at them, like a moth being drawn to a flame. The printed, kimono style, organza jacket with a contrast print black & white lapel looks really interesting. The pairing of it against the tribalesque black crop-top also works seamlessly with those pants. I do wish Sonakshi’s heels were a tad bit higher so they wouldn’t cut her height as awkwardly as they are with these mary-janes. The addition of the bum bah seemed unnecessary but sorta what kinda makes this look western, no?

6) Maxi Skirt

This matching co-ord set that Sonakshi wears from KoAi has an Indianess about it thanks to the print. The cropped jacket with tie front detail makes it quite a modern ensemble. Inside it is a crop-top that matches the print of the skirt. Her pulled-back hair with jhumki style hoops also adds an old-world charm to this look.

7) Sonakshi’s Cape Jacket

A classic black look always goes a long way. High-waist, wide-leg trousers and a crop top that shows a smidge of your tummy is always a classy way to dress. To add another layer to this look is this pleated, cape jacket that is bejewelled at the collar. The essence of the whole looks is modern, yet there’s a subtle Indian touch to it. Sonakshi is a wearing Gaurav Gupta ensemble here.
