Dia Mirza’s Blush Pink Kurta Set Is Perfect For Lowkey Weddings

Dia Mirza recently tied the knot with Mumbai-based businessman, Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony that’s making waves all over the internet for being a plastic and waste-free event. The festivities were a testament to the actor’s beliefs on eco-friendly living and as for her sartorial choices, simple yet statement-making was the equation she went for, as she always does. While for the D-day Dia picked a gorgeous red Benarasi saree by Raw Mango, for the post-wedding festivities, she looked to the genius of Anita Dongre to sort her out! Keep scrolling to get a better peek at her latest look.

Dia Mirza looks resplendent in a blush pink anarkali:

The actor wore an ankle-grazing anarkali made from Chanderi mul, adorned with embellishments and silver embroidery in nature-inspired motifs. She teamed her kurta with a straight-cut salwar and a dupatta featuring the same decoration. Instead of accessorising her look with traditional gold jewellery, Dia took a different route and went for silver jewellery instead. A floral-shaped statement neckpiece, jhumkas and an encrusted handcuff completed her look. A pair of ivory-coloured embellished juttis from Fizzy Goblet added the perfect finishing touch to her elegant look.

In the beauty department, Dia opted for heavily-kohled eyes with a generous use of mascara, defined eyebrows and a mauve lipstick. She left her hair open with the upper half braided and clipped at the back in a centre-parting, only accentuating her minimalistic bridal look.

Whether you’ve got an intimate wedding to attend or have other traditional festivities on your calendars, a look like Dia’s will serve as the perfect, modest yet statement-making outfit!

Dia Mirza Showered With Praises By Fans For Having A Priestess Conduct Her Wedding

href=”author/shubanka-sridhar”>Shubanka Sridhar , 17 Feb 2021Dia Mirza and Vaibhav Rakhi & the female priest at their wedding (Source: Instagram | @diamirzaofficial)

Actress and environmental activist Dia Mirza got married to businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony on Monday. It seemed like a beautiful celebration of love which happened in a cozy, dreamy setting at Dia’s house in Mumbai and was graced by the couple’s close friends and family.

Dia shared pictures from the wedding ceremony yesterday and they were nothing short of stunning. But one thing that stood out in the pictures was that Dia had a female priest conduct her wedding. While it’s always male priests that conduct the ceremonies here in Indian weddings, it sure is a refreshing change to see, don’t you think?

The picture Dia shared has her and Vaibhav sitting by the holy fire while an elderly woman dressed in an orange saree pouring ghee into the fire as she chants the mantras. Along with the picture, Dia wrote, “Love is a full-circle that we call home. And what a miracle it is to hear its knock, open the door and be found by it. Sharing this moment of completion and joy with you..my extended family. May all puzzles find their missing pieces, may all hearts heal and may the miracle of love continue to unfold all around us. #ThankYouPreeta #SunsetKeDiVaNe”

Dia has always been one to use her platform and her voice for voicing her views on things that matter and this is one way that she is creating conversation.

One fan in the comments section wrote, “Priestess…living feminism in true sense.” Another one wrote, “And if I am not wrong it is the lady pundit who is chanting the mantras.” Given it is not something we generally get to see, there were comments from people who said they were seeing a ‘woman panditji’ for the first time.

Dia and Vaibhav have been dating for a while now but never publicly announced it. Previously, Dia was married to producer Sahil Sangha before they separated in 2019.

Dia Mirza’s Pink Handloom Saree Is Appropriate To Wear Across Seasons

href=”author/sakshi-kore”>Sakshi Kore , 07 Aug 2020Dia Mirza | (Source: Instagram | @diamirzaofficial)

August 7th is observed as National Handloom Day—an important occasion that seeks to recognise the indigenous art and craft of India. Today marks the 6th edition of the occasion and has come just in time when #VocalForLocal has been the all-new rage. And for good reason. 2020 brought the world to a standstill and people have had to fight harder to make ends meet. Supporting and uplifting local art and craft has become the need of the hour and India has actively been shedding light on this issue. That being said, National Handloom Day is a celebration of the Swadeshi Movement—a protest launched in 1905 against the partition of Bengal by the British government.

The driving force of fashion in India—Bollywood, has been supremely vocal about choosing local and handmade products. Amongst the many stars that took to their Instagram to show support to the handloom community is Dia Mirza who flaunted her handloom possession: a gorgeous, pastel pink, chiffon saree. Read on for more details of her outfit.

Dia Mirza’s saree comes in a soothing colour palette and a comfortable fabric:

Crafted by mastermind Riddhi Jain Satija of Medium, the six-yard staple is made of three fabrics—silk, organza and chiffon. The saree is dipped in beautiful shades of pink. The blouse is painted in a rani-pink hue and the saree complements it with a light, pastel pink. The breathable fabrics of the silhouette make it appropriate to wear across seasons, ensuring an easy-breezy feel for the wearer. The saree comes with geometric, Jamdani florals adding a playful touch to the look.

Our weavers need all our support and love! This #NationalHandloomDay let’s celebrate the rich legacy of our Indian weaves and textiles. I am proud of this rich heritage of India and of our weavers who have kept our traditions alive. There is nothing like a handloom saree 💖 #NationalHandloomDay2020 #VocalForLocal Saree @studio_medium Jewellery @mirakinofficial Styled by @theiatekchandaney

Self-toned sequins in linear patterns further accentuate the six-yard that Dia teamed with an intricately checkered blouse. The round-neck of the blouse adds a boss-like vibe to the outfit, while the delicate tassels featured on the hemline of the pallu add a fun finishing touch. To add some glam to the look, the star accessorised her outfit with shoulder-grazing, linear earrings.

In the beauty department, the actress kept things fairly simple. A middle-parted, low-pony, a statement red lip and filled-in eyebrows rounded off her hair and makeup!

I, for one, love the colour palette of the ensemble and the breathability of it. What do you think of Dia’s look for Handloom Day? Tell me in the comments below!

5 Celeb-Inspired Ways To Wear A Classic Ivory Kurta

href=”author/shikha-kohli”>Shikha Kohli , 27 Apr 2020

There is something exquisite and pristine about a white kurta, particularly for the summer months. Indian wear is typically associated with bold prints and vibrant colours. However, an all-white or ivory kurta outfit is minimal with maximum style. But it need not be plain and boring, a white kurta can be worn with intricate Indian craftsmanship such as Chikankari, block print, Kantha, Zardozi or mirror-work, for instance. When it comes to desi wear, the options are endless.

Even celebrated designers such as Manish Malhotra, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Tarun Tahiliani and more glided away from quintessential vibrant colours in desi wear in their collection. As they moved towards more subdued and classy shades such as white and ivory. Soon after, Bollywood followed, with young actresses like Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and more, walking in and out of the airport in all white kurtas. A white kurta is breezy and dainty for the summer day, and, elegant and luxurious for a summer night, all you have to do is pick the right silhouette and switch up the styling.

Take a cue from our favourite celebrities on how to wear this wardrobe staple for the summer!#1. Isha Ambani‘s Hand Painted White Kurta

For Holi celebration, Isha picked this hand-painted custom made, anarkali from Picchikaa. The bold floral print and sheer organza dupatta scream summer.

#3. Sara Ali Khan’s Ivory Gharara Set

The young actress, Sara Ali Khan’s ought to be the pioneer of the white kurta trend. Her off-duty and airport white kurta looks inspired many young girls to add this classic to their casual looks and daily wear. One particular look of her’s that stood out was a Manish Malhotra gharara she wore a recent appearance. The short ivory kurta had Chikankari embroidery all over. Adding colour into your look via accessories like Sara is one option, additionally, another great way to rock the white kurta trend is by adding colour using the dupatta.
