Sushmita Sen and Rohman Shawl are one of the sweetest couples out there and always make it a point to show their love for each other and their families.

From the glimpses we get from Sushmita and Rohman’s social media, we see Rohman is extremely close with her two daughters — Reneè and Alisah. We have seen them holiday together, attend marriages together and even study and learn math together. Now, when he is so close and comfortable with them and so in love with Sush, he was naturally asked about marriage plans in the future.

In a recent interview with Times Of India, when he was asked about marriage, he said that he is already like family with Sush, Reneè and Alisah. He shares that he sometimes feels like a father to them, or like a friend, and that they fight too — just like a normal family. He adds that they don’t dwell on the topic of marriage, and that when it happens, they won’t hide it.

On how dating Sushmita has changed his life, he says that as an outsider, he understood how a star’s life involves a lot of hard work. He says that made him take his own life seriously and started respecting everyone more. He shares that when he first started out, he wanted to be a ‘star’, but says that now, modelling gives him happiness and that he wants to get into business. But, becoming a star is not on his wish-list anymore.

Rohman was recently seen in Papon‘s music video ‘Maula‘ alongside Erica Fernandes. Sushmita’s last outing was in the acclaimed web series, Aarya. Her daughter Reneè also made her acting debut with the short film, Suttabaazi.

Malaika Arora Wears White In Two Stylish And Surprising Ways

href=”author/nelly-wadia”>Nelly Wadia , 06 Feb 2021Malaika Arora

Malaika Arora is quite the fashion enthusiast. We always see her in interesting combinations that fuel our inspiration. However, nothing brings us more joy than she and her girl gang getting together. This activity involves them having a blast but us keeping track of their highly curated and tasteful looks. Scroll on to see more about Malaika’s outfits.

Let’s take  a closer look at Malaika Arora’s fun OOTD’s:

For her sister, Amrita Arora‘s birthday Malaika Arora wears another rendition of the white shirt. She opts for an oversized one from Huemn with a portrait of American-German poet and author. Malaika wears the shirt with the black and white print as a dress. She accessorises it with whiter perforated Isabel Marant boots that cost about 85 thousand rupees. Just for that pop of colour, she throws in her orange Off The Grid Gucci Supreme tote bag. She pulls her hair up in a bun and wears minimal makeup.

Malaika Arora

I love that we’ve already seen Malaika Arora wear these jeans almost three times or more before. Each time she’s worn it differently and styled it in an interesting way. Of course, we know that Malaika has a penchant for fashion and a great handle on her taste. So it’s no surprise that she makes it work with nuances each time. This time she wears a vintage, white ruffle top. The top features a square neckline with a sheer net overlay with polka dot details. The same details follow through on the sleeves as well. I like the cop because it’s a crop-top, so while it looks and feels modest it still has a touch of sex-appeal as it reveals her toned abs. She styles it with ripped, metallic jeans and a black Gucci belt.

She accessorises her look with delicate gold, layered necklaces, net pointy-pumps with ankle straps. God, I love those shoes and they go so well with the vibe of the look. Her statement accessory is the Fendi Roma shopper bag. She clips her hair up and neutral makeup completes her glam.

Bigg Boss 14: Salman Khan Asks Rakhi Sawant To Leave The Show

href=”author/shubanka-sridhar”>Shubanka Sridhar , 06 Feb 2021Salman Khan, Rakhi Sawant (Source: Instagram | @beingsalmankhan, @rakhisawant2511)

In the Bigg Boss episodes nowadays, more often than not, we get to see one or the other contestant lock horns with each other, throw allegations on each other and much more.

Recently, we saw Rakhi Sawant get into an argument with Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla where she commented on their game and how they needed challengers to come save them on the show. This angered Rubina and she poured water on Rakhi. She also got into a fight with Nikki Tamboli regarding kitchen work and makeup.

In the promo of today’s Weekend Ka Vaar episode, we see Salman Khan speak to Rakhi and keep the main door of the Bigg Boss house open for her. He warns her saying that in the name of entertainment, if she doesn’t stop crossing the line with the others in the house, she will have to walk out of the show.

He is seen screaming at all the housemates for their behaviour on the show. He points out how Nikki Tamboli used the word ‘Lokhandwala‘ on Rakhi and says, “Lokhandwala, tum kahan Chaand se aage ho (Like you have come from the moon)”. He then asks Rakhi to have a talk with him in the theatre where he warns her on her actions. He says that he has always supported her. But with her throwing allegations, questioning others characters and other things, he says they don’t need such entertainment.

We see Rakhi in shock, while the other contestants are also equally shocked. Now, it will be interesting to see how she reacts and how the show progresses forward.

Ananya Panday’s Little White Dress Could Make A Stylish Wedding Dress

href=”author/nelly-wadia”>Nelly Wadia , 06 Feb 2021Ananya Panday | (Source: Instagram | @tanghavri)

Ananya Panday might only be three films old but she surely made an impact in her debut film Student Of The Year 2. Her last movie Khaali Peeli opposite rumored boyfriend Ishaan Khatter did fairly well. The two even took off for New Years on a quick trip to the Maldives. On the work front the actress will be seen in Shakun Batra’s untitled next opposite Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Her next project will be her foray into South Indian cinema titled Liger. The 22 old star also has enviable taste with hints of quirky and feminine. Scroll on to see more on her latest look.

Here’s a closer look at Ananya Panday’s classy and glamourous white dress:

Ananya Panday is expertly styled by celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri in a Nasty Gal dress. Honestly this dress is so pretty and elegant that it is totally something an unconventional bride could also wear. If you have to do the long white dress to appease the family, you could wear it for the first half and then slip into this slinky number for the second. I’m pretty sure it will aid with all the dancing and the having of fun. Let’s talk about why this dress could make the perfect dress for the untraditional bride that’s a party animal. The satin dress features a corseted bodice that cinches the waist in, the overlay and ruching make for romantic details. The ensemble is sultry, edgy and glamourous which one can also chalk up to the off-shoulder, sweetheart, bustier neckline. It draws the eyes to ones collar bones and elongates the neck.

I’ve noticed more and more brides embrace unconventional fashion trends and the idea of changing into dress that one doesn’t restrict one’s movement and enjoyment is so freeing. I like that Ananya Panday doesn’t wear any jewellery with this look but you could choose small diamond studs and a bracelet, if you need a statement piece.

Ayesha DeVitre and Sajan Thapa give Ananya Panday beach waves that look wispy like wind has been blowing through them. For her makeup, Stacy Gomes gives her a glossy and a shimmery brown smudgy eye, nude lips and contoured cheeks. The makeup is quite sexy and really works even as an option for bridal makeup. A touch of highlighter on her collar bones to accentuate them further.

Initially, it was TikTok that gave me a platform to express myself and explore more as a digital creator, not just that but my internet family gave me immense love irrespective of the platform, and for that, I’m very grateful.

After I started creating content, I wanted to study too and didn’t want my education to suffer. I always believed that education is highly crucial for the youth. So, now I can proudly say that I have been able to strike a good balance between the two!

At the beginning of my career, my father had very sternly advised me to always treat those who support me with love and respect. Everything You Need To Know About Female Genital Mutilation

href=”author/pooja-maheshwary”>Pooja Maheshwary , 06 Feb 2021International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation By The Creative Guy | www.shutterstock.com

Globally, February 6 is observed as ‘International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)’. It’s a timely reminder to create awareness, amplify voices and focus on the elimination of this practice. According to the United Nations,

Female genital mutilation (FGM) comprises all procedures that involve altering or injuring the female genitalia for non-medical reasons, and is recognised internationally as a violation of the human rights, the health and the integrity of girls and women.

FGM is a universal health and human rights issue. Hence, we feel it’s important to have some common knowledge about it. Read on to know more about this practice, its prevalence, its health effects, the laws on FGM in India, and why FGM should be eliminated.

What Is Female Genital Mutilation?

According to Sahiyo, an active voice against female genital mutilation,

FGM or khatna involves removing parts or all of a woman’s external genitalia. This could range from cutting the tip of the clitoris to removing the inner and outer labia, and in some communities, stitching the labia nearly closed.

Mainly prevalent in Africa and the Middle East, FGM is also practiced in some countries in Asia and Latin America. According to studies, there are at least 92 countries where this practice prevails. In India, the practice is associated with the Dawoodi Bohra community. An investigation conducted by Sahiyo in 2017, found that some Sunni communities in parts of Kerala in southern India also practice FGM.

While there is no particular age at which FGM is performed, within most communities, it may be performed at birth, or before puberty or marriage. In some cases, it may be performed during a woman’s first pregnancy or after the birth of her first child.

It is estimated that 200 million girls and women alive today have been subjected to FGM.

Why Is Female Genital Mutilation Practiced?

The practice of FGM has been around for more than a thousand years. There are many cultural, traditional, and religious justifications offered for the continuation of the practice. But mainly, it is a manifestation of deeply entrenched gender inequality.

According to Sahiyo,

The overarching theme behind the practice is that it preserves the cultural identity of the group. Various justifications are given for why this preservation is needed, such as to control a woman’s sexuality by reducing her ability to obtain sexual fulfilment, which helps maintain the purity of a woman by keeping her a virgin until marriage, and faithful to her husband once married. A third commonly cited justification for genital cutting by Jews, Christians, Muslims, and other indigenous religions is that genital cutting is a religious requirement. Social pressure by family and friends can also create an environment in which female genital cutting is known as an informal or formal requirement for social acceptance, and/or is a marriageability requirement.

Social acceptance, religion, female hygiene, preservation of virginity, marriageability and enhancement of male sexual pleasure are the most common justifications provided by communities practicing FGM.

What Are The Benefits Of Female Genital Mutilation?

The World Health organisation categorically mentions that FGM has no health benefits. It says,

It can lead to not only immediate health risks but also to long-term complications to women’s physical, mental and sexual health and well-being.

Girls who undergo FGM often face short-term complications such as excessive bleeding, infections, severe pain, shock, and difficulty in passing urine. Over the long-term, it can affect their sexual, reproductive and mental health.

What Are The Laws ON FGM In India?

India does not have a specific law against FGM. The Supreme Court of India however, is currently hearing a set of petitions on the issue. According to Sahiyo,

While some petitioners are seeking a legal ban on the practice in India, a counter-petition by the Dawoodi Bohra Women’s Association for Religious Freedom has defended the ritual of female circumcision on the grounds of religious freedom.

Effective laws also need to integrate social change. When laws are introduced in contexts where people are still expected to engage in the practice and fear social punishment if they do not, the practice will continue and maybe driven underground.

To eliminate the practice of FGM, systematic efforts are needed to engage communities and focus on human rights, gender equality, sexual education and attention to the needs of women and girls who suffer from its consequences.

Psychological scars in childhood, fear of female sexuality, lack of consent and women’s rights over their bodies are some of the key factors that drive female genital mutilation to continue being practised. Hence, it’s really important to work towards creating awareness and speak up against this practice.
